My Inner Critic

There is a group of people in my growth path, they have supported me, helped me, or brought me a lot of happiness. When I get along with them, some of them are my role models and some of them are my goals. They always give me inspirations and let me go forward bravely. I drew five abstract shapes in total to demonstrate a family member, a coach, a teacher, a best friend and someone I admire. I also drew some curved lines. They are my creativity strings that are always extending.

 

The shapes at the top with a blue circle represents my mom whom I really love. She is a very caring mother and she has always given me good suggestions to help me avoid troubles. The bigger shape is coloured in black because black is a colour that absorbs all other colours. It is tolerant and decent to represent my mom. The shape is drawn like this to look like my mother hugging me and the blue circle on the top is like a head. My mother always let me to think boldly, but when I fail to do something, she always accepts my complaints. Therefore, I think this shape is the best representative.

 

The next shape in green below symbolizes a past PE coach I had in my secondary school. I used to be inactive and not good at sport at all. He encourages me and give the strength to show my ability. He always gave me opportunities to have more tries in games and he also let me demonstrate my skills in badminton and signed me to the school team to play competitions. I think green is a positive colour because it always shows what is correct.  The shape is a half circle like a half moon. I think it is like my teacher as the sun to shine the positive energy on my body, and I am the moon refracting this force, and work harder.

 

The red shape in oval is a piano teacher of mine who taught me for 12 years. She is a very patient and humorous person. She has She is my first teacher of music, and she makes me find my love and passion for music in happiness. When I met her, I was like the little white flower I draw in the middle of the shape. I was innocent and I knew nothing of piano, but she uses her way to let me find my interest in playing different notes and even write one myself. The colour red is full of passion, it is like my feeling when I learn piano with my teacher. 

 

The yellow shape is my 8 years best friend. We are now living in different countries but we continue to chat almost everyday, She gives me a lot of happiness and she is a very open minded person. She always share exciting news with me and I have a good time with her. The shape has two mirroring parts, it is like our relationship, bonding together and never be apart. There are distance between us, but our conversation is never going to end. Yellow is a colour of trust, it is bright and comfortable, just like my friend’s and I’s friendship.

 

The fading circle at the top is my role model, Svetlana Zakharova. She is a famous principal ballet dancer at the Bolshoi Theatre. She is gifted and she works very hard. She became a principal dancer when she was 18 which was very young, but she continue to practice and train hard and played many iconic roles perfectly. I really like her, she is also very creative and her persistence stimulate my creativity too. This shape shows that even through sometimes I feel like I am getting closer to be like her, but her excellence  is also very far to reach, so it is fading away. I did not colour the sh
